The company called saying I was approved for a $3,000 loan. I listened to their spill, while I was also Googling the name of the company. I asked if they had a website, and he said they were not loan brokers, but were lenders. I asked again, because every legitimate company that operates online (they got my info online) has one. After running around a bit, he finally said they did not have one. As with the others on this list, he told me I would need to load a Green Dot Moneypak card with $300 to prove I had $300/month to pay the loan note every month. He said they could just look at my bank acct, but this is a simpler way to do it, and the FTC recommends it. Of course the FTC doesn't, & I also looked up the Green Dot Moneypak cards while on the phone with him. The card's site said not to give your card number to anyone not on their safe list. I told him if they want to check my ability to pay the note, they can contact my bank, because I am not going to load a cash card and give them access to it. It didn't take long for him to make an excuse to get off the phone after that.
