ZeoBit makes a program called MacKeeper that is ruining computers all over the world, including mine, because its product is infested with malware/viruses that makes the performance of one's computer immediately deteriorate upon download.

ZeoBit uses misleading advertising so as to make their product not only appear free, but also like a regular Apple update. Their aggressive ads are simply unethical to begin with, but what follows when one uses the product is unbelievable.

When MacKeeper first appears as an advertisement, it does so in the form of a random window popping up in your browser. However, it looks quite legitimate, and actually to many Mac users, extremely helpful to ones computer (similar to a free Apple update).

They claim to have high ratings from respected periodicals, and show their attendance at MacWorld festivals, where MacKeeper has apparently been praised as a fine product. These high editorial ratings may be genuine, but if so, that doesn't change the fact that the product stills ruins computers. Thus, these partnerships, whether genuine or not, are only contributing to their scam.

Because it appears to be a wonderful product, one is easily lead to download it, and when one does this, his/her computer is immediately infected with malware/viruses.

Then ZeoBit's program MacKeeper runs a "scan," where afterwards it tells the user that it can only clean up the errors it found if the product is purchased (prices range from $39.95-$89.95).

One finds out later, that ZeoBit's MacKeeper software actually creates serious problems, regardless of whether one buys the software or not, or even if one tries to delete it. In fact, they make it extremely difficult to delete the software.

My computer is malfunctioning severely because Zeobit's MacKeeper, and I cannot afford a new computer. I am distressed, and furthermore disgusted that this company has been getting away with such ridiculous acts of fraud. My computer costs $2800, and has been destroyed by Zeobit. It was a wonderful computer until these people popped into it.
