I too attempted to buy the $1 bargains. I actually timed it and exactly 2 seconds after it popped up said sold out and on many occasions came up as sold out. My main trys were for the door buster deals and they too mostly popped up as sold out and each time I got one in my cart, it would take it back out and say sold or the site froze when I tried to check out and it was several minutes before I could get back on line. However, when I purchased something not a deal, it took my card info and completed the transaction with no problem. Sound fishy to you. I received generic emails that did not even discuss the problems I wrote about and was told like others were that they would have the kinks out the system by black friday. Suprise that was a fib. Had same problem all weekend. Even stayed up one night and still couldn't even get a door buster deal. Site would freeze at check out and not let me back on. The merchandise I purchased came and it was not of the quality they stated on the website and when I tried to call to get info on how to return items got no where. Attorney I work for suggested I file in small claims court and call the attorney general in Maryland and the Better Business Bureau.
