Weddings in carmel is a wedding event company that supposedly rents chairs and does wedding event planning. We had found them on google search when we were in need of extra seatings for our wedding in January of 2012

So the story goes...We had reserved some extra chairs through this company. Sent them the check for 800$. Our venue in monterey then called us saying that we in fact did not need the extra chairs and could fit our guests on what they had.

So we Called back Weddings in Carmel to cancel our order 3 weeks before the event (which was adequate time) and the person, "Michael, Schelhouse" told us that he would send us the refund check immediately. Nothing was sent back.. We tried calling them endless times, leaving them multiple messages and no call back. We did some more research to find that they had a bogus address and multiple wedding business names that they used to fool customers. We discovered that There were a few other people on yelp.com that were also scammed by the same folks for their wedding.

3 months later after no call back I decided to call on a home number and i left them a message saying that we were interested in using them for renting chairs. They called back and to their surprise we told them our story. The person on the phone "Michael Schellhouse" gave us a soppy excuse of how sorry he was for the misunderstanding and that he was in the process of handing over his business to his niece hence all the mess. He also said that he would send us a check immediately. We gave him the benefit of the doubt, again...and we were foolish to have done so. He sent us a text message with a picture of the check he supposedly was sending us. And of course, nothing came...again we tried calling back but this time the number had been completely cut off. These people should be arrested and put in prison.
