Ihave an account on seniorpeoplemeet.com. I have been a member since approximately Nov.3, 2012. I responded to this profile. I don't remember the name, I think it was the same name he gave on the email,,,,, and I began communication with "rob". We wrote and spoke on the phone everyday. One day he advised me he had been granted a contract that was located in Egypt. He stated that he and his 14 yr old daughter were going... He said the passports and everything had already been done. The time lapse between the approval of his contract and the time of departure to Egypt was less than 24 hrs. I was curious because of the amount of time being so little to get a passsport for a minor. That was just one of my concerns. He left for Egypt, he called when the got in, wrote me that night and informed me that one of the major parts needed for the contract had not arrived in Egypt. If he didn't get some money to rent another part from a company in Cairo,Egypt he would loose the contract. He said his credit cards were not accepted in Egypt if you lived in the U.S. and the ATMS didn't work either. He said he had to have cash, $2550.00. Of course from the beginning of us writing and talking to each other he professed his undying love for me, he said that by reading my online profile he knew we were soul mates,,,, etc.... I thought that was a bit strange but let him talk the crap. I asked him many times to stop the pretty words and give me some information about himself. He gave me bits and pieces about his wife and son being killed in a car wreck and it just being him and his 14 yr. old daughter left. The wreck was 10 years ago and he had to raise his daughter alone. Some of the letters he wrote sounded like they had been written for someone else. When Iasked him about this he said that was not the case,,,, it was that he came to the US when he was 35 yrs. old from Ireland and he was still having some issues with the English way of writing. He also stated that he was 60 yrs. old. I thought he must be kinda slow for it to take so long to know the correct way to write a letter. He also stated that he surfed the web,,, so this made me question even more. He stated he had been a business owner before also. Well if that was the case how could he be so uneducated as to go to a foreign country on a contract without doing his homework firsst. He called me the morning of the 11th, I think, at 4:30 in the morning asking if I read his email yet? Isaid no I was sleeping.He asked me to go read it.That is when I found out he wanted money. I refused immediately and told him off and hung up. Later that day I wrote him a letter letting him know how I felt. Today, on the 13th, I received another letter from this guy giving me an address and a social security number. I am filing this complaint in hopes that someone will read it and be aware of the scum that is online waiting to prey on us. Needless to say I have not nor will I send him a dime. But I am going to write him back and play along with him as long as possible to try to get more information from him.
