I received a pop-up on a legitimate site saying that I had won a $3000 holiday and to call a Sydney number as I live in Australia. I was connected to Kayla Cook who told me I had won this package for $896 for 4 people and told me what I would be getting....I said no I couldn't get to Orlando as I couldn't afford it, and would prefer to have it here in Australia. She said it was only valid in the US and I had 18 months to take it and save up but she would see if she could do something for me. She came back and offered me $498 for the same package and added another 6 months. I still said no but was passed on to 3 more people who were very convincing, Kerry at the Validation Department, then Kevin at the Customer Service Department then Gene the GM who gave me the promise of having until June 2014 to take the package for $249. I was sort of convinced and as I didn't have any money in my credit card I wasn't too concerned. At the end was then told that I had to pay $15 per night bed tax - more expense. Overnight I decided to cancel the transaction. Contacting my bank, after seeing that the bank paid out, I was angry and the bank told me that I had to ring them and get them to release the hold on the payment. I could not get an answer on any of the given numbers (0290378422)(001114074046835). I also went online to get all my information, not only did I find no names attached to a letter saying what I was supposedly getting but there were 2 pages of fine print to try and read/understand. Other details about my package was to be directed to another site that does not exist!! I am only a disabled pensioner and feel that I have been ripped off badly, perhaps not as much as many others, but still the same I have been scammed. Is there anything I and everyone else can do? Please, I could do with this money back. Thanks.
