I was cold called Craig Howells from lifestyle money(also trading as CLIENTCONNECTIONS LTD) about claiming back PPI money I was owed. They asked me for my agreement number on my credit card "its the 16 digit number on your card" they said. Having received my card statement over 3 weeks later I discovered they had taken £719.92 off my card without my authorisation. I called them on the Saturday when I got my statement, on the number they gave me and it was out of service, which was very suspicious, they have also called me off 6 different numbers with a Swansea dialling code 01792, so I rang the customer services number and was told the offices where closed so ring back Monday. I called back and was told it was explained to me, which I denied, that this was a holding fee for the solicitors fees, I asked to listen to the recorded phone conversation between me and Craig Howells and was told I had to apply to the courts, also it says on their website STARTMYCLAIM.com that any fees are payable only from my final settlement. I then asked for it to be cancelled only to be told there would a £180 fee to cancel which I refused to pay, which by this time he was also calling it a refundable deposit. I have since contacted my card company in writing disputing the transaction and they said it was all OK and that I agreed to this by giving them my number. If I agreed to it why am I disputing it?. If lifestyle money said to me they are going to take over £700 off my card, I would have said "NO CHANCE". I have received no official claim pack for me to sign, only a letter welcoming me as a customer and thanks for engaging in their services. I am more disgusted with my card provider for not looking into it, which after receiving my letter, which I sent first class on Monday 15th October, I received a letter on Saturday 20th, the letter was dated 18th of October, they have literally taken 1 working day to look into it, so because of the 14 day cooling off period there's nothing they can do, but it took over 3 weeks for me to realise they had taken this money, so if I'd have found this out before the 14 days I would have cancelled it.
