I filled out an online application for a personal loan. Was contacted the same day saying that I was approved for a loan and to send them verification of employment. I sent them the information they requested and then was sent loan documents outlining the terms of my loan. In the same conversation, Yvette Patterson the broker I was speaking to, said that I needed to provide four months of payments to show good faith to the lender. So she instructed me on the process to make this payment. She told me to go to Walmart and get a MoneyPak card and load it with the $750.00. Then once I did that, to call her back with the activation number. I followed her instructions and she said the loan would be processed and the funds would be in my account within 4 to 8 hours. Well, this never happened. I called the following Monday and spoke to a different broker who said the lender has determined that they wanted another $1,000 in payment for insurance purposes on the loan. I told the broker I did not have the funds to pay and decided to decline the loan. She told me I would receive a check from them within 3 to 5 days. I have called everday since then, and still have not received my funds back. In fact, they never answer their phones and I have not been able to get through to a live person since that day. I have left multiple messages and I have scheduled payments on bills based on the loan funds I was promised. This has caused me extreme hardship and stress. I was recently informed that my cancer is no longer in remission and will be back undergoing chemotherapy and this matter is only adding stress to my life. I don't understand how people can operate this way when they know the people applying for these loans are in need of the funds. I didn't know where else to turn and found this information online and it sounds like this has happened to others. I just want my money back.
