Dear ScamBook team,

I have been a victim of a Microsoft partner’s fraud. I have paid Open IT Training over £2000 for full Microsoft certification. I've set my first Windows 7 exam few weeks and failed badly. The mock exam questions were totally different to the online material they provided me. And the real exam question topics and style were mentioned in neither the mock exam nor online material. I bought Windows 7 MS official book and studied it, it’s completely different to their materials. After I told them this, they told me we can provide you with materials that will guarantee you a pass. I think this is a fraud and these kind of companies shouldn’t be associated with Microsoft at all. I have sent them many emails, letter and calls to refund me but they are all ignoring me.

I dont understand how they became Microsoft partners. I’ve started my career in Microsoft technology but I am very surprised how a fraudster company such as Open IT Training can become a Microsoft partner. I am not the only victim of this fraud; there are many other people who wrote their complaints. Looking at their history, they changed their names more than twice.

Their address:

I need guidance please.

Regards,

Omar

  • Hi Omar, I'm sorry to hear you've had problems with Open IT. I'm thinking of signing up for a course also, so I'm concerned that their courses aren't valid.

However, they do seem legitimate. They are associated with JobcentrePlus and in partnership with Hays Recruitment. These are very well-respected recruitment firms (JobcentrePlus is run by the UK government).

Please write to JobcentrePlus and to Hays with your complaint - and also to confirm that they do accept graduates from their courses. (It's possible that Open IT just pretend to work with these firms, hoping that no-one will bother to check for themselves. But if they do genuinely provide trained developers and IT workers then these other firms might be able to give you some advice or look into the matter for you. Obviously, they will be concerned also if they are placing Microsoft Certified staff who are not properly qualified.

It's also very puzzling that they claim to prepare you for Microsoft Certification if the material is not the same. Please contact Microsoft themselves and check. Send them copies of the material you studied and ask if it's relevant and what you can now do to get certified.

Looking forward to hearing about what happens.
    All the best!
