I received a letter from County Check Services regarding an account with Advanced America I called the number listed on the paper because I have a receipt where the account was paid in full. I spoke with a man named Parks. He kept making references to a "Sargent". I told him I had a receipt showing the account paid in full and I offered to scan it and email it to him he said they can't receive emails. I told him that this account was paid he said I am not going to argue with you and hung up on me. I called Advanced America and asked them what was going on with this account. They did advice me that even if the account had not been paid they are not able to come and arrest you it is a civil matter. I called back to talk to "Parks" again and I asked him who they bought the account from and when because those are questions you have a right to know. He said you are not going to take control of this situation and hung up on me. I will be figuring out who I can report this information to because it will not just stop with that. They do not have a right to scare people that could be in vulnerable situations to get money out of them.
