I was approached this past June by phone by A+ Financial which was to provide me the service of lowering my interest rates on all of my credit card debt. Sounded good but I took a few days to think about it. Sales people are young and very convincing as to sincerity and ability. The premis was that if they had not saved me $3,000 in one year on interest debt that I would get my money back. I asked in every way I could to confirm this understanding on my part. Move ahead now to 4 months... after applying for 2 cards (for balance transfer), contacting all of the banks with whom I have cards... with no success, I requested that we end the relationship with getting my money back. I was passed to an agent who said he could get me back $300 but I could not get the rest until the end of the year. He sent me a doc which I have not signed as it denies me the right to inquire about the rest of my money (the remaining $495). I need to have either a check for $795 (which I am paying interest on) or the $795 refunded on my credit card! A+ has done absolutely nothing for me except add 2 more credit cards (which they insisted were for balance transfers) ... I do not want these cards however, the credit agencies do not know this and I am sure my FICO has suffered! I pay all of my bills each month and am furious at myself for falling for this.
