I purchased the first of three programs:
M1(which I Purchased), Then there are 2 more,
M2 which costs $8000.00 + , and M3 which costs
over $13,000.00. I requested a refund, as I
was recovering from 2 emergency surgeries, and
could not physically pursue the program. I made this request by mid July which is well within an industry wide 60 day period for refunds. I was told by several "Customer Service" representatives, that they allowed only 3 days time to request a refund. This practice does not allow sufficient time to evaluate the materials. The specific amounts were $1,745.00 for the M1 kit and some $200.00 + dollars for introductions to the program. I still have the materials which I will gladly ship back to them with documentation that they received the package, which is in pristine condition.
My coach when I told him that I wanted to quit and get a refund said that the surgery I had was done every day, and that it should not prevent me from continuing in the program. When I again asked for a refund, he requested that I not call him until I was serious, and he doubted that the WMI Company would issue a refund.
This money came from my wife's 401K which charged a hefty fee for early withdrawal.
I am not saying that WMI is a ripoff, but a 3 day refund policy certainly appears to be.
I have been without this money for over four months, and I feel that this should be settled right away before I start charging damages in addition to the above figure. This is an International company, so if I decided to file a lawsuit, they would only drag the process out so that I would finally give up.
The best course that I see is to let others in their community an around the globe know what new members might face if they decide that this "oppornunity" isn't for them. The more people who are aware of their 3 day refund policy, the less likely they are to become victims.
Respectfully,
Alexander MacLachlan
