Several years ago Capital One gave me the option to keep my account open and pay an raised interest rate from 6.9% to 14.9%, or close the account and pay off the balance at 6%. I chose of course, to pay off the balance at 6.9% and close the account. I tried to redeem my 6752 points today and they said because the account has been closed, I can't redeem them (although I STILL PAY on this account and it gives me my points balance on the statement.) They said they should have been taken when the account was closed. NO ONE NOTIFIED ME OF THIS!!! If I can't take my points balance, why do they keep putting my points balance on my statement? This makes me FURIOUS!
