I signed up for a free trip drawing at Octoberfest in Evergreen, CO on 9.23.12.
On 9.27.12 I received a call on my cell phone stating that I had won a trip. They then said that the trip was not free but highly discounted as to avoid having to pay the "winnings tax" and needed my credit card number for payment. Being caught up in the moment and excited to get to see more of America I gave then the payment they asked for.
As soon as I hung up, I realized what a scam this was. I called them back immediately and asked for a refund. They got hostile and said the only way I could get it back was to download the email they were to send me by 3:00 Friday 9.28.12 and mailing it back to them saying I wanted to cancel and then they would refund the money.
It is now 9.29.12 and they have not sent the email with the refund information. I have contacted my bank to put a stop to the charge, but need the form to complete it.
What a scam!
