Responded to a job offer on Craigslist. Turns out the guy only has a "one-off" job, that he has a customer with 7 laptops that need to have Win7 and some other software installed. After agreeing on a price, he said he will have his customer ship the laptops to me with a check for payment, and a little extra for me to ship them back to his client when I am done. He now sends me a check which is obviously a fake, and wants me to deposit it, then wait 24 hours, then take the cash from my account and western union it to the Philippines. I told him that I have deposited the check, but my bank won't credit my account for a week. I still have the check and have no intention of cashing or depositing it. I've reported this to the FBI and will see what I can do to help them catch this guy.

- I got into the same situation, I just got his email back agreeing for the price but when I read the whole message I totally doubt it was a real job, and the only info about the guy I've found is just this and another report here in Scambook.

I was also sent a check, just now in fact. I opened the Fedex envelope and the check was for 10 times more than I agreed to do the job. I immediately realized this was a scam. I googled his name landed on this page and confirmed my suspicions.
Stay away guys n gals!!

- I got my check today, I am interested to talk to others who have recieved their check to compare some notes.....I have a cell phone number for the shipper of the check at the top of the Fedex form......it's a Sprint phone based out of Burbank CA, the check was shipped from L.A. Not sure if someone can email me but my email address is cliffmarts at g mail.......I would like to see if all the checks are the same routing, account and check numbers, etc.......I'm going to make some calls tomorrow to the attorney listed on the Fedex (a number I got from the Florida Bar, not from the package) and the company listed on the check (which I got from the NY dept of Corporations).......
