I am an artists from UK. They represented me for almost two years long at Art Fairs in US and Canada. I paid lots of money for their services. In January after my inquire the owner told me that he sold two of my paintings. But he refuses to give me the money. He refuses to send me bills/accounts of sells (2800) He doesn't answer my emails, he hangs up when we call him.
I don't know what to do. I am just a normal person, I am not reach. I paid him the last two years 24. 265 dollars for his service. I know I am stupid that I spent such an amount of money but I though he would be an honest art dealer.
Please, tell me, what can I do? He is probably selling the paintings with more profit and he doesn't want me to see the bills. Maybe he doesn't even inform the tax office about it. Maybe he is doing lots of illegal business. I am hopeless. This is insane. He represents lots of artists around the world.

- Artisan Direct is sketchy. I ran a small ad in one of their trade jounals last year and instead of running in December as promised, the magazine didn't come out until the next spring AND the ad was wrong! I would be careful as they may be legit, but I had a terrible experience.

- A response from Artisan Direct: an agreement has been reached between the artist and AD for the artist to be reimbursed for certain art work that was damaged being returned to her.
