I first received a call at work on my cell phone. They have been calling me from a private number, but say to call at 913 674 0578.
The person stated she was Lisa Martin with Regional Arbitration and she had a court order to serve me papers the next day between 2pm-4pm, so please be available because they will come to my work if need be.

Being the naive person that I am I called her back. She told me that she had a case concerning Advance America for a payday loan taken out and not paid in 2005. The settlement was $1000.

Since I did take a payday loan out around that time from that company, I believed her. I set up a payment plan to take out $250 each month until it was paid off. But when the first payment was taken out, they took $500 out!! I called them and they played stupid, saying that they didn't know what happened. But they did refund the money within 3 days.

After that screw up and the fact that they never sent me correspondence or proof of the debt I stopped the remaining payments. It took them almost a week to call me when they realized the payment didn't go through.

When they called to ask why I stopped payments they accused me of trying to fraud a financial institution and would be calling my bank and suggest they close the account. I then TRIED to tell them I stopped payments because of the above reasons...but was being yelled at the whole time. I was then transferred to a person named Frank White, and named himself Lead Investigator.

He was the worst. He yelled and harassed me for 20mins while I tried to explain why I didn't pay. He accused me of fraud and that I was now under Breech of Contract, and he will have an affidavit soon. Then hung up.

I called him back to ask for proof of the debt, I was put on hold just to be hung up on again.

I didn't call them back. And to this date haven't. They on the other hand have called me 5 times, stating they will only take another $250 to close the case if I would just pay it. Or called where an automated system stated that I was now the Primary Peron of Interest in a fraud case.

The most recent phone call was yesterday. Lisa Martin called me and left a message. But she asked for a Jennifer...and proceeded to ask the said Jennifer to speak to me about contacting her back because this was about fraud and that she had an affidavit, and that "Jennifer" was being contacted because she was listed as a reference. Now the fact that Lisa called MY CELL PHONE and asked for the wrong person is beyond me!! I mean wth???

I haven't called her back...and won't. I lost $500 to these people! I feel stupid and awful! If there was really a fraud investigation, I would have been contacted by a lawyer or have been served! These people need to be stopped!
