Bought an affiliate website from YourOwnStore.co.uk.

Told it was a niche market, custom built for me.
www.footballstop.co.uk

I have since discovered www.footballzone.co.uk also built by YOS - creating unfair competition within my "niche"

I have followed every bit of training they have offered me but have earnt £0.00 from the site since May 2011 - daily hits fluctuate around 15 a day.

Sales person called Jamie told me id probably "only" make £250 a month after 2 or 3 monthes - if only that were close to true.

I have asked repeatedly why my hits are so low and why i have not earnt a penny, but everytime they have ignored me on this, but have had the time to answer other questions i have had.

Today, i have stated that i will seek legal advice, and suddenly i have a reply from Sam. Saying they aim to sell within 3 weeks, but cannot guarantee a sale by tommorrow. However, would i accept £2,700 for example, if a customer wont budge over that amount. I said i would take £3000 if they sell it within 14 days from todays date, or a 100% refund within 4 weeks of todays date.

I believe that is more than reasonable.

Just to clarify, i have spent a minimum of 6 hours a day every single day on this site for the past 3 months, and 4 hours every day for the 9 months prior to that. I have grafted far harder than they have said i should and have gone to lengths of incorporating pinterest before YOS knew what it was, bought 4000 twitter followers and bought a lifetime license to xgen seo, using it to submit 2 articles every single day. I have sent 2 blogs daily, sometimes 3, to my twitter account, google+ account and spun as xgen articles to send. I have expanded the site, overhauled the entire look and feel of it and added numerous pages to make it more attractive and football relevant, frankly (it was poorly arranged on delivery to me, from a football point of view). According to the YOS seo dashboard, my site is 100% optimised and has been for monthes...yet still, no joy!

Update: 10/30/2012

Having spoken to YourOwnStore, they have offered to resolve my complaint. They will make a few changes to my site, as they see fit, and are looking to get my money back to me in the very near future.

Update: 11/07/2012

Contact from yourownstore.co.uk via scambook. Asked for original order number and contact details so they could match my complaint to their records. Said they want to refund me.
I replied with a copy of the original invoice email they sent me.

Update: 11/13/2012

THIS ATTEMPT TO "RESOLVE" IS A SCAM!!!!! YOS HAVE NO INTENTION TO REFUND ANYONE ANYTHING, AND ARE SIMPLY ATTEMPTING TO GET THE "PENDING" BANNER ABOVE AS MANY OF THEIR NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AS POSSIBLE

  • Seeking Resolution: I'm Looking for a Refund
  • Refund Amount: $ 5,430.00

  • @jp1980, thank you for sharing your experience with YourOwnStore.

I can bring evidence that when you bought your store 18 months ago (2011), the sales pitch was: 'All our stores are designed to create an ongoing passive income and with the software and training provided, it is ENTIRELY achievable in as little as 3 - 6 months.'

here's the confusion - footballzone.co.uk is not my site - thats a site that YOS built AFTER building and selling me mine...easy to confuse the two isnt it?
    My site is footballstop.co.uk

very easy to make this mistake though is it not...hardly fair for YOS to make more money by filling the "niche market" they supposedly highlighted for my site is it?

below is a copied / pasted conversation with PAUL VEAL from YOUROWNSTORE...dont seem like they know what theyre doing, even when supposedly attempting to "resolve" complaints!!

    even this is a con!!

    Hi Joe,

We are working on resolving your complaint by attempting to resell your site for you. As you are aware we will not be offering a refund on your site but we will continue to try and find a new buyer for you.

    (Personal Information Removed)
    2:28 PM (51 minutes ago)

    to Paul
why say you'll offer a refund then?

    Paul Veal
    2:55 PM (24 minutes ago)

    to me
    Hi Joe,

    The message read
"We would like to offer you a refund OR otherwise resolve this complaint"

As I stated earlier the member of the team who is working on this is not able to identify which complaint relates to which customer so they send a generic message so they can figure out if the person posting the complaint is entitled to a refund based on the Terms & Conditions and Money Back Guarantee that is agreed to when purchasing the store or if there is another way to assist in resolving the complaint.

As you are aware your site does not meet the requirements laid out in this documentation so we have offered to assist in reselling your store for you.

listen pal, your firm is clearly well under the kosh! so many complaints that you cant identify 1 from another eh? not good is it. you have done NOTHING to resolve my complaint, not even close. You have attempted to con the viewers of scambook now by creating an "under resolution" banner above the complaint i placed, with the dirty little message tactic which youre now squirming to distance yourself from! All this conning and swindling ... would it not just be easier to refund EVERY customer you have turned over and move on? you may still be able to salvage the situation, you never know.

basically, i am out of patience with your micky mouse joke of a firm. You have done nothing at all to resolve anything i have complained about. I am taking this to court now so you will be getting dragged in yourself.

maybe you could learn from this? How best to NOT upset the majority of your customer base? Start by not lying through your teeth to all of them perhaps?? Then, maybe have the spine to acknowledge their issues over the phone? Build a little trust and respect from your customer base? And then not have to refund ALL of them PLUS damages in court after 12 mths?

  • Hi J P,

Firstly I would like to clarify a few issue for yourself and other readers of this feed in regards to your complaint.

As you are aware most Scambook posts do not associate any user details which allow us to identify who the complaint is from, so for us to be able to work towards a resolution we have to firstly connect the complaint to the customer.

From the out set of your complaint we have agreed to assist you in reselling your store with the use of our sales team and a re-design of your store all at our expense. This is not a services that we usually offer but have extended it to you as a way to help remedy your complaint. As you are not entitled to a refund per the terms and conditions to which you agreed when purchasing the store we feel as though we are doing all we can to assist in resolving this matter for you.

    As you are aware we did have a buyer lined up who unfortunately pulled out of the transaction when they were researching your site on Google and found this complaint. The sale of course then fell through. We have not tried to blackmail you into removing this review, My actual words to you when I first mentioned this to you on October 23rd were;

“As I am sure you can imagine it is extremely difficult to find you a buyer for your store when there is negative comments like this online.

Our team will continue to try and find you a buyer but their efforts have been hampered some what by this. ”

    To be continued.....

  • ….Continued

    Our attempt to resolve this are again not a scam as we have contacted you as per the guide lines of the Scambook resolution process. As mentioned previously the message sent to you via Scambook stated;

"We would like to offer you a refund OR otherwise resolve this complaint"

This is a standard message that has been sent, at the time it was sent the member of the team was unaware of who you were, so if you were entitled to a refund as per the terms and conditions this would be the preferred route. However as you do not meet the requirements you agreed to then we are offering and have offered you the “or otherwise” option of reselling your store.

I have at no time tried to “squirm” or distance myself from this message and have repeatedly explained the reason for this message to you. The banner to which you refer is done by Scambook when we send you a resolution option, we have no control over this and again it is part of the Scambook resolution process.

You are of course entitled to your opinion and to take further action as you see fit. We will take no further action in replying to this thread or further emails from yourself on this matter as you are fully aware of the situation.

We will however continue to try and find you a buyer for your store and will let you know as soon as we have any progress on this front but I must stress again the biggest obstacle that we face is this thread as it will put off any potential buyer, this is not a threat or blackmail just a fact.

  • YOUR terms and conditions of sale or refund are NULL AND VOID when the sale takes place under false pretences. YOUR sales MANAGER JAMIE MACDONALD lied to me prior to the sale. My purchase was based on these fales promises...therefore your company sold to me on false pretences, making all your t's + c's void and irrelevant. YOU OWE ME MONEY SO GIVE IT BACK!

  • I would also like to join in this conversation and share my experience with this company. I was also lied to by the salesman over the phone who promised me seriously high earnings for little amounts of work and sold me a proven money making system. Well as we know now clearly this system does not work as even that particular salesman has been unsuccessful in making any money with the 3 websites he has confessed to have failed and wasted his time on.
The companies dirty tactics also include arranging certain existing customers/owners to give out false references, these customers in return get favours from this company in other area's, where even full refunds have been offered to some and therefore the customers have agreed to become their undercover allies and secret informers.

  • i am also starting to think that PAUL VEAL is actually SAM DAVIS. this clown was the only joker who ever answered the phone up there (when they actually had the balls to answer the phones) and when i asked to speak to 1 of the 2 mugs in charge, (SAM DAVIS and JASON WEST) neither of them were available mysteriously. However, once this PAUL VEAL fool had finished lying to me over the phone, i would magically have an email or message reply from SAM DAVIS, almost immediately as i got off the phone. Makes me think that they are the same person? SAM DAVIS is never around, yet always emailing defending himself. I have a feeling that this lot are a far smaller 2 bob operation than previousley thought, ans that JASON WEST is using SAM DAVIS as his little puppet, making him do all the work (well, what they class as work), due to SAM DAVIS being a weak little man. Then, as SAM DAVIS is as weak and feable as we know, he creates this other alias PAUL VEAL to take the heat off and give an impression of a slightly less mickey mouse firm than is actually the case?

  • I do know the owner who gave me a false testimonial as he mentioned to me that he is nearly earning the annual minimum estimated earnings. I will name and shame that person in the near future. My best guess is Sam has left the yourownstore division and his email account is being used and abused by the rest and especially Paul veal who was probably most likely drafted in to replace Sam. And so far Paul has done a (Inappropriate Content Removed) job, he is not very good at his job, he is (Inappropriate Content Removed) basically. I really would not be surprised if this legal scam was being operated from Pauls utility room or bathroom (toilets).

PAUL VEAL locked me out of my ticket history, whilst fellow CLOWN SAM DAVIS copied and then deleted all my tickets! haha mugs. these fools dont understand that i have previousley made my own copies of all these tickets of course.

    a sorry state of affairs.

just to hint a bit...did the owner you suspect have a site that dealt with cycles by any chance?

  • The cycles owner I did not contact. But did contact the other who had more than 1 website, and the apparent site which was nearly making the estimated minimum annual earnings was advertised for sale only a few months later for only around £5k. Which was shocking as it was supposedly making £30k plus. And I later learned that it was successfully sold for the owner, his just reward for his efforts and hard work living out false testimonials.

  • well they must have a team of a few little helpers then - not surprising really, but theyre a little silly as they will all get dragged into this case that is building. One of the owners has been advised that there is now a very strong chance of obtaining a criminal conviction of this lot. I think a few of them have realised already, as i hear a few of them are operating from abroad now? As if that stops them being prosecuted once the legal wheels are rolling haha

  • My husband last night posted a complaint regarding Mr West and him using my old CV as an attempt to bully and / or blackmail me. This complaint has been removed, not too sure why although I thought I'd use this post to update.

Mr West has now been reported to the Information Commissioners Office as he has breached the Data Protection Act. He has also been reported to the National Fraud Reporting Centre who have his details held and informed the Police of his actions. The complaint is now registered with them and they will be dealing with it accordingly. Unfortunately they cannot do anything, as yet, about his businesses and the way they operate although they have been able to advise as to what action to take and given lots of information of various laws and regulators.

The louder we all shout, the clearer he'll hear!

He won't get away with his criminal activity for much longer!!
