Received a phone call at my home # 604 941-1287 from someone claiming to be my grandson. I automatically thought it was my grandson Tylor who was apparently calling from jail in Montreal. The person went on to explain why he was in jail and would I bail him out? I wasn't supposed to tell his mother or anyone else in the family-I explained I would have to talk to his grandfather first. I would receive a call from his lawyer Marc Andre Quellette.
Marc called and explained what the charges were and how much money was needed(seemed way too low for the charges). I was to wire the money-told me where to go to do this. I needed more information and still had to discuss this with my husband so he said he would call back.
My husband took the call and got all the information and went to wire the money.
Something didn't sit right with me so I called my daughter to find out that my grandson Tylor was not or had not won tickets to Montreal-she had spoken to him Monday night.
I called my husband while he was getting ready to wire the money and informed him is was a scam.
Marc was going to call my husband after he had wired the money to get the 10 didget #.
When Marc called to get the # on the money order of $1958. my husband told him it didn't go through and that he had called the grandson-person hung up.
On both phones that we were contacted by it showed private-no # came up.
