I sent for a free sample of Tropicleanse, only having to pay £2.95 postage. I received item and thought that was the end of it, but when I checked my bank account on Saturday I saw a payment of £49.95 to something called 'Natural' with a string of numbers. I contacted my bank as I had no knowledge of any such payment and they gave me the freephone number associated with the 'Natural' account. When I called the number the person answering said 'Tropicleanse'. I asked what they had taken a payment for and he said it was part of their terms and conditions. I said I had read no such thing and demanded a refund. He said he could not refund the full amount but that he could give me a partial refund.

I got back on to my bank and they are treating it as fraud and are going to try and get me a full refund. But I don't know whether or not they will be able to.

I will let you know when I hear from them.

I am an OAP and my weekly income is around £150. The payment they took from my bank account represents a third of my income. I explained this to the man who answered the phone. But it didn't affect his response.

I would like to be able to warn other people about this company as the offer for the 'free sample' was included in an email I receive from a genuine health company. And I had no qualms whatsoever of paying the postage. They have obviously used my card details to take another payment. Apparently, if I hadn't noticed, it would have happened every month until I did notice. These people are wicked!

  • After emailing Tropicleanse and informing them that my complaint was one of many on your website and hinting at legal action, the replied stating their terms and conditions, but said that they would give me a full refund in my case. I had also said that I would update my complaint on the website accordingly. Here it is. I have now had a full refund, but had to practically blackmail them to get it. Hope it works for the rest of you who have been ripped off.
