I received a letter from the Capital Fiduciary Inc. stating that my mother has won $250,000 in a USA/Europe Sweepstakes. The address on the header of the letter is 3 United Nations Plaza, New York 10017 and 402 Main Street, Windsor, Canada. A reminder on the bottom of the letter says: "To avoid fraud and payment to a wrong person, you MUST keep this process CONFIDENTIAL." I have called the phone number given and the man said to deposit the $3,995.50 check enclosed and then to give them a call back once the check has been deposited in the bank. The check as it was said on the letter that it will be used to pay for the prize taxes of $2,900. The Canada address leads to nothing but a church in Windsor, Canada called Old South Church Cemetery and The Windsor Diner once I researched it on Google Maps.
The check on the other hand has a different address and company on it. The company name is ASE Inc. with the address as 1791 Tullie Circle, NE Atlanta, GA 30376. That address leads to a company called ASHRAE which is an International technical society that involves electricity, the environment, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration. It is definitely NOT "ASE Inc." THEREFORE IT IS A SCAM! BEWARE!!!!
