I received a fax that looked like a legal notice that my domain name was about to expire and that it needed to be renewed immediately. I called the number given and was told I could renew for five or ten years. I was nervous about giving out a credit card number over the phone to them, so I told them I would call them back after I checked my records for when I initially set up the domain. I then called the firm that set up my domain and found out this is a scam that wants to take over the domain illegally. They said to ignore and tear up the notice. Just wanted to warn others about this...I came very close to giving out my cc # and my domain rights. Good thing I listened to the voice in my head!
