I received a check from WPS Insurance Corporation PO BOX 7009, Madison, WI 53707. This check was written out of a JP Morgan Chase, NA Account from Columbus, OH.
The check amount was $3997.90 and came along with a letter from Continental Lottery Resource Management Inc. The claims agent: Bob Kingston.
Being the skeptic am I, I called JP Morgan Chase and verified that it was an active account but could not verify the amount of the check. Besides, the letter attached said I won a lottery and I don't play the lottery. What I couldn't understand was how they were able to get my name and old address. I apparently won $300,000.00 but the check was to cover the taxes owed on the winnings. The tax amount was $3000.00 but the check was $3997.90, none of this made sense.
I called WPS Insurance Corporation and they are a health insurance company and are not affiliated with the lottery or administration of funds for the lottery.
This is a scam! Beware of free money in the mail.
