Postal Service left small suitcase sized box containing two smaller boxed items. Enclosed invoice stated these were a chef's knife and a "free" cutting board. The enclosed invoice informed me my debit card had been charged $79.99 for the knife and $8.95 for shipping. When I phoned the company, the rep informed me that I had been shipped an earlier "free" knife as a part of a promotion, and since I hadn't called to cancel the program, I would be receiving and paying for cutlery on a monthly basis. My response was I never received the earlier "free" knife, and since I live in a secure condominium building, if someone had mailed me ANYTHING, I would have received it.
The operator immediately responded that she was sending me an address label so that I could return the item(Apparently they experience this request a lot), but unfortunately it would take EIGHT WEEKS for the $88.94 for the latest unrequested charge to be returned to me. I'm betting that sometime during that eight weeks, the next unwanted kitchen item will arrive and the merry-go-round will continue, so I will have to notify my bank, etc. This is one of those new age forms of theft where you "participate" with companies in order to "receive a new i-phone". I find it hard to believe major companies like Apple condone having their products co-opted by mouth-breathers like "Cooking Pleasures", who must scurry to find the rock they crawled out from under.I would have accepted the $8.95 shipping charge on the "free" promo knife if they had ever bothered to send it.No wonder firearm sales are increasing.

Update: 08/17/2012

I lack the technology to include photos of my invoice. Should it be helpful, Cooking Pleasures' phone is: 1-800-209-8397 and my customer # with them is : F8581645
