I am sorry to report that we have been stabbed in the back by VERIZON. If you are unfortunate enough to accept the word of a Verizon salesperson regarding the data usage on their new "Jetpack" wireless hotspot, when they tell you that you will be automatically notified before you exceed your monthly limit, you may get a very ugly and costly surprise. I spent a total of 3.5 hours on the telephone with two members of their "management" team and retention department trying to get to the bottom of why I was never notified that my 8GB limit had been exceeded by 72GB WITHIN A 48 HOUR PERIOD!!!! Although Verizon can neither identify the source of the data that was used, nor can they explain why I was not notified as promissed by their salesperson, they are not willing to reduce the $1080.00 charge more than $145.00. I have been a loyal customer of Verizon for many years and I can't understand why they will not step up to the plate on this and take responsibility for their failure to notify me as promissed. Sadly, I am going to have to go back to Comcast for internet access. Comcast does not charge by the GB but allows unlimited usage per month. In all fairness, our cell phones and home phone are with Verizon and have always worked well without this kind of billing nightmare.
