A sales rep from NCSA contacted my family relentlessly about the college opportunities that NCSA could offer our son. The sales pitch was great as he made sure he played on our sons emotions about playing basketball at the next level. We decided to move forward with only one condition, making sure we could cancel the program at any time without being responsible for future payments. The sales Rep"NOT SCOUTT!!!" assured us that we could cancel without being responsible for anything, directing us over the phone while we were viewing the same website to click here, scroll down and click again and so fourth while keeping our son excited and amped about the entire experience.
Once everything was clicked on and the sales rep secured an electronic signature he gave my son a profile to complete along with the duties of uploading video clips and so fourth.
After some time had lapsed and we heard nothing else from the sales rep, no follow up calls, nothing and making several payments totaling $225.00 we decided to exercise our right to cancel (per our verbal guarantee) the program and chalk the $225.00 as a loss. Soon after we began to receive collection emails from NCSA demanding the balance of $675.00 and was directed to read the part of the contract that indicated that the consumer only had 72 hours to cancel the contract or the entire amount will be due. Now, I thought the amount of work the sales rep gave to our son would have taken more than 72 hours to complete! So this was a scam to began with. On top of the that, I wrote several email to the sales rep only to receive a reply stating in part, "its' out of my hands..." I've reporting them to the BBB out of Chicago and I plane to move forward to arbitration.
NCSA is a rip off and the sales rep that my family had the experience of dealing with lied about the cancellation policy just to secure a sale.

  • I'm a travel ball coach and have used NCSA for my own child and recommended this group to several of our players. They are an outstanding organization that told us up front that we were committing to a process and they'd be there for the support. They also told us that we would have 3-day right to cancel and that they would refund my money if my child had a career-ending injury. Even better, they'd help my child if they needed to transfer and would help find a job after graduation from college.

To make a long story short, my child was contacted by 145 college coaches, about 20 had real genuine interest. The school my child selected was $45,000 a year and I didn't have to pay because of the funding received for athletics and academics. This would have never happened if not for NCSA. Upon graduation in 2010, there were 3 job offers waiting.

I was so impressed, I recommended this group to several kids I coached. They had equally impressive results.

Finally, the service agreement is crystal clear in what is expected of the student-athlete and what I could expect from the organization. I read it the same night I enrolled my child. The NCSA delivered far beyond my expectations.
