Without Prejudice.

My complaint is against Independent Financial Corporation of 6623 Las Vegas Blvd.,Suite 250, Las Vegas, NV 89119, 1-888-800-0974.

In November 2011 I received an email encouraging me to earn a six-figure income using the unique Internet marketing system with the above-mentioned company & I applied for further information.

I was subsequently contacted by a female sales person from this company, who assured me of the company history & capabilities in assisting me to build a business with Internet marketing toward me achieving a six-figure income.

I was subsequently referred to the principal, Mr Matt Mayo, who assured me of achieving a six-figure income through his company, as he had & that the “investment” of $10,0.00 would be easily reimbursed within months, using their unique system.

The sales person then read through the company policies & procedures & asked me if any set amount had been promised by anyone, as it was against the law in the United States to promise a nominated income.

I was subsequently forwarded a contract by email, which I had the facility to cancel within 3 working days if desired. I paid the amount requested of $10,000.00 & signed the contract.

During the following days, I considered that I had been bombarded with numerous calls from this company & felt pressured into signing the contract, paying money I could not gamble, so I cancelled by registered mail within the prescribed time frame.

Following this cancellation, I was again contacted by Mr Matt Mayo, who assured me that he would personally ensure that I would earn my six-figure income, would give me a “scholarship” at $5,900.00 & that I could recover the sum paid for the system in a short period of time, that I should cancel any other businesses that I had signed with & use their system exclusively.

Mr Mayo was so convincing that I felt rather foolish in cancelling the contract & re-singed the contract on 7 December 2011 in good faith, discovering after the event that I was in fact receiving half the system – for half the price & had not been given any favours or “scholarship”.

I had made it clear to Mr Mayo that I was over-extending myself financially & needed to clarify that there would be no further payments, as I have a part time job only & am currently writing my books, with limited funds at my disposal.

Mr. Mayo assured me that there would be no further charges or payments.

On receipt of the “system” it was evident that my only choice in marketing was Affiliate Marketing, E-Bay, Drop shipping or Blogging with this company.

I was not interested in selling on E-Bay & could not see how anyone would achieve a six-figure income with this method. Drop shipping appeared to be complex involving third parties & individual State taxation, so I opted for Blogging, which would eventually incorporate affiliate sponsors.

I explained my choice to my appointed “coach” Marshall Mason, who directed me to their E-Library & allocated me assignments to be achieved weekly. This I did for the ensuing weeks, with Mr Mason calling me on a Tuesday morning, during which time he asked if I had any questions, allocated more tutorials & said he would call next week. This call lasted approximately ten minutes each week.

I continued this weekly activity until I noticed credit card charges for the use of E-Library in the sum of $39.95US each month for January & February 2012.

I contacted Mr Mason by email & questioned this charge & he told me that if I didn’t pay the amount, I would lose the facility of the E-Library, the only source of tutorial, instruction & information.

I contacted Mr Mayo, whom I had not heard from since my contract signing, by email regarding this matter & he replied that the fees must be for my “website”.

I replied by return email that I have no website & I have not heard from him again.

Although other staff have called me regarding tax, insurance & coaching. I have determined not to communicate with anyone, anything that is not in writing to or from this company.

As explained to Mr Mayo initially, I had paid for a system with Chris Farrell of Chris Mentor Me for an Internet marketing package & the fee was just over $1,000, all inclusive, for ongoing tutorial, support online, a website & free hosting fees. I have since discovered that Chris Farrell is one of four only recognised internet marketing advisors, who is deemed to be legitimate.

I was interested in Independent Financial Corporation’s advertisement because they claimed to have a unique circumventing system, unlike any other, which I understood would accelerate my income, while I had simply plodded with the other system.

The reality of my experience with Independent Financial Corporation, has been that I apparently paid $5,900.00US for nothing more than information is readily available online free, regarding “Blogging” tutorials & have also been expected by them, to pay for the ongoing use of their tutorial system.

To me, this can be compared to buying a car (albeit a lemon) & then paying the car dealer monthly to use the car.

I consider that this is an unethical, dishonest extraction of money under false pretences & am personally more than tired of being bombarded with unscrupulous scams on the Internet, of companies making unsubstantiated claims & delivering nothing but empty promises, not to mention empty bank accounts.

I have contacted my National Australia Bank & disputed the amount of $5,9000 US, together with the subsequent payments of $39.95US monthly for use their E-Library to access tutorials.

I would like to ensure that the money paid for this “system” will be refunded in full & that this company will be taken to task by the United States government, to prevent others being abused in this fashion.

Emails to Independent Financial Corporation will be forwarded, together with the contract & my banking records, if required.

Yours truly,
Lynn Merrin-Licardy
