I was first phoned on 20/05/11 by above people saying that my computer was badly corrupted and they could fix the problem by having me run a program "Ammyy". Being a new user (I had only had my computer since Feb 2010) I unknowingly gave them access remotely to do a lot of things on my computer, ie clearing out all viruses. They had me pay AUD$199.99 by credit card through PayPal for this service and told me it covered me for 5 years covering a long list of services. Then on 2/08/11 they called me again saying unfortunately, hackers had accessed my computer and showed me a long list of dangerous problems that would soon crash my computer. I am an aged pensioner and rather naive and fell for the scam a second time paying AUD $204.99 to have an anti-hacking program installed. They emailed me an Invoice on a business Letterhead which stated all the services they were offering. I really thought they were legitimate. They worked on my computer again and downloaded a program which I am now worried has given them access to remotely operate my system. Also I am afraid they may have access to my Credit card No. although so far no unauthorised transactions have to my knowledge occurred. I have learnt through the Aus Govt "Scamwatch" that this is probably a scam. I have now uninstalled what they had downloaded to my computer but am not sure if they still have access to it. I'm wondering if I should change my email address (a gross inconvenience) and my password as I don't know much about the workings and whether they could have access to that. I feel I have probably been scammed and am out of pocket for AUD$405.00. I would like to know if I have any recourse.

If possible please enlighten me.
Thank you
