I am writing to warn EVERYONE and ANYONE who has or is considering doing business with this company. My experience with them has been downright outrageous! Please read...

First, I happily ordered a scooter from them back in mid June. I did this for several reasons the main ones being that I needed a vehicle for not a lot of money and they "seemed to be" offering the best deal on what I was looking for.

Finally, this past Friday, it arrived! However, when I went to affix the handle bars I realized that there were two critical parts missing, the main screw to attach the handle bars and the gas cap. I contacted the company to inform them of the error and to see what they would do. They said they would ship me the missing parts for free via Ground service but that processing would take 3-5 days and then shipping would take another 5-7 days after that. Faced with another 10 days or so of having to bum rides off of my co-workers, I asked if there was anyway to speed up the process. I was told that if I was willing to pay an additional $66 for expedited shipping they would send it out on Monday for me to receive on Tuesday. Although I didn’t feel that this was really fair, to have to pay to fix their mistake, I agreed because I really needed the transportation.

Tuesday, UPS made their daily delivery, but no package of scooter parts. I called the company to find out why. It seems they had a question about whether I wanted a locking gas cap or a regular one, but they had not contacted me about it this. (I guess they were just gong to wiat until I called?) I said that I didn’t care which one they send but that I just wanted the parts. They said that they would ship them out that afternoon so that I would have them on Wednesday...It takes a lot to make me upset so I still have not lost my cool... yet

Wednesday, UPS made their daily delivery, but once again, no scooter parts. Again, I called to find out why. This time it seems that they wrote down my credit card information wrong so that when they went to process the shipping charge it didn’t go through. But, again, they hadn’t contacted me about the issue. But still trying to stay calm, I just got the info all straightened out and was again assured that the parts would go out today and be delivered on Thursday (tomorrow).

A little distrurbed by this process I decided to call to tell my situation as I am worried the parts will not come tomorrow. So I called and asked to speak with a customer service manager. I was then put on the phone with a woman named Melissa, who was nasty from the getgo. When asked if she was a manager, Melissa said “No. But I am as high as it goes. What do you want?” To say that Melissa was rude and uncaring would be an understatement. Melissa told me that there is no recourse for their policy and implied that I should be grateful that they even offered to speed the process up since they “have customers waiting on a three week list for parts” and that she would be happy to bump me down to that list if I wanted. She was so condescending and rude that I couldn't even responde due to my utter shock at her behavior. At the same time of me talking to her, I was looking at the Better Business Bureau’s website and report on this company and pointed out to Melissa that they have a C+ rating and 209 complaints in the last three years, many of which were regarding the same types of issues. Melissa did not care. When told that she was being rude Melissa said promptly told me that I should check my attitude and then actually sarcastically thanked me for pointing out her rudeness! She then gave me a "bottom line" saying, and I quote, "basically you are not getting your money back, so this conversation is done." Melissa then blamed the lack of parts on the manufacturer stating that they (meaning sunny sports) are just a middle man, accepting no responsibility for the company standing behind the products they are selling. It just went on and on, and really was the worst display of disservice to a paying customer that I have ever seen.

So then I was jsut on hold with the parts and tech department for half an hour to see if I can actually get a tracking number for the critical parts I need to use my $900+ purchase. I am also filling out a complaint with the BBB even though it is plain that Sunny Sports in Chino, California (www.scooterdepot.us) does not care about their service reputation as they so falsely claim on the About Us page of their website.

So, if you are in the market for a scooter, take it from someone who is in charge of the customer service department of a company with an A rating by BBB and only one complaint made 2 1/2 years ago, DO NOT BUY from Sunny Sports in Chino, California (www.scooterdepot.us). It will not be worth it
