I was contacted by a James Mann in late May of this year about purchasing a parcel of land that I owned in Arizona. I was than passed on to a Mr. Ron Carpenter who worked up a land purchase contract. I had to send in $590 for processing, transfer and title fees. This eventually came to $1,180.15 total. The closing which was being handled by a David Burckes was supposed to be at a Title company in the town where I live on August 2. Since receiving my payment on July 26th, there has been no communication from State Acquisition nor have they responded to my email requests or phone calls. The company is located in Largo, FL. The key individuals I was engaged with were Ron Carpenter and David Burckes. I should have known better and did not do enough do diligence before falling into what appears to be a land scam. Their website is www.stateacq.com and email address is [email protected]. and phone number is 727-242-2343.
