They want me to pay for a magazine subscription I never ordered or agreed to pay for, plus they have put me into collections for that money. I never heard of the company and I would never order magazines for that amount of money. Money inwhich I do not have.

  • Hello. As an employee of Cascade (though not an AUTHORIZED representative) it distresses me to see these type of online posts. This sounds like it was for a subscription to Architectural Digest Magazine for 48 issues (4 years) at $3.33 per issue. This averages $39.95 which if you look in a recent issue of Arch. Digest you'll find mail in cards offering it for that same price. Cascade is a price protection program. When you subscribe for that many issues, if the price goes up in 2 years you'll still be locked in at the lower price.

When I talk to a customer I ALWAYS make sure that they answer a firm "Yes" to the question "Are you authorized to place and purchase this order". I even make them repeat it if they just casually say "yeah", or "yep". It's very important to me that someone who is unauthorized not place an order, because this is what happens. A secretary or other person in the company will "authorize" the order and then once the bill comes to the Principal they have never heard of us because they didn't authorize the purchase themselves.

We will always strive to assist our customers with any concerns that they have, and the only way that we can hold them to that money is if someone from their company has agreed to the order. I encourage you to contact the company's customer service office. Check the website at www.cascadesubscriptions.com and they'll be happy to help you.

Additionally, if it'll help, those magazine subscription prices are tax deductible, so you will get the money back later via your tax returns.

If this truly was for a sub. to Arch Digest, I encourage you to use it with your clients to help improve their design choices and experience. This magazine is designed to keep Architects and Interior Designers up to date with everything associated with their industry. I wish you the best of luck.
