Purchased Microsoft Office Pro 2010 3 users licence.
Got email on how to download + same text came priority mail. Software could be loaded on a 32Bit or 64 Bit link.
I made 2 tries and 2 different things happened.
First I started the download procedure and I was told through a long code that the executable of the internet file Professional 64 bit was not valid and then the whole downloading window disappears.
I tried again. The Downloading link contained the name of a file hosting location (mediafire). But as soon as I got to that location I was told the file was deleted or no longer active.
I called the 888# of course and an automated message suggested to make the request online. I did it through their site.
Then I finally decided to Google their name adding "scam" (which I should have done from the beginning) and here I am, beeing one more person being you know what... Worse, it is not the first time I'm falling for this. Shame on me!
Question: If paying by credit card, has anybody tried to oppose the charge? Have they been successful or is it impossible to trace them back?
I see we are about 2500 people making a complain which should average to quite a bit of money. Just to let everybody know: the FBI has a special unit for internet fraud (I know because I contacted them, for another bigger scam I did not fall for.Even if the amount is small on an individual basis, it would probably be worth for them to look into this especially if they get swamped by 2,500 phone calls for the same thing. If it's not for us, we could do it for the sake of others...
