My story sounds almost exactly like others I have read on here.

This company was supposed to help me with a home modification involving doing a home audit. We started last June 2011 and around February of this year no responses back to me via the telephone or email. I also put up $2850 which was not easy for me to do. At that time I was still making my payments on time. But was told in order to do this modification I would need to be 90 days late before they could help me.

I felt pretty comfortable at the time since there was a contract with a guarantee of getting everything back except $495 which they called that a filing fee. They even had me speak to someone who they had helped with their modification just so I would feel more at ease with this.

I left so many voice mails and phone messages that I now was very concerned. After receiving a letter from my lender stating they were closing my file because I did not submit the required documents needed to determine if I would qualify for the home modification. FFG states in their contract that we are not to have any correspondence with the lender as that could damage what FFG is doing. And since I did pay them I figured everything was being handled.

I called the lender to explain what was going on and they informed me that they have had no contact from FFG since February of this year. My home is now in the forecloser process and I have had to hire an attorney firm. It pisses me off that there are companies out there ripping people off let alone when things are tight anyways.
