On 12/20/2011 we applied for a HARP 2.0 Loan. We were told that we qualified and needed to apply with $400 for appraisal fee. The closing was to be 2/3/2012. We went round & round with six different "processors" and our loan "stalled" until finally we were told that closing costs had shot up because our "rate" needed to be "locked in". During this time rates were DROPPING and we NEVER authorized ANYONE to lock in our rates. We finally told them we no longer wanted the loan due to all the additional fees they tacked on because the loan took so long to process. On April 26, 2012 we were sent a letter stating "we are currently unable to help you with your loan" because * Other - Product/Program is not available. Why should I pay for their incompetence???
