I placed an ad on Craigslist and immediately received texts messages from an interested buyer. The buyer wanted to have the item shipped to his brother as a surprise and he wanted to pay for the item using PayPal. I was pretty sure it was a scam so I played along and got the following information. He said his name is Mike Davies. I actually got him to call me and he could barely speak english and would only ask if he should "proceed with the payment". I continued to tag him along as if I was going to do it and I managed to get him to tell me the following info. He stated he is in Florida and even gave me an address of 1310 W. Colonial Dr. Suite 1, Orland, FL 32804. He stated that the shipping company was Quick Cargo, which may or may not exist.
I tagged him along and said that I got a higher offer. He immediately offered me more and I did this three more times and each time he offered me more to the point where he was willing to pay more than the item would cost brand new! Pretty pathetic! I then received an email from the alleged Quick Cargo asking for the address confirmation of the item and to respond by email which is ridiculous. The name of the Quick Cargo representative at the bottom of the email was Lisa Xavier at [email protected].
This is obviously a scam to get the seller to pay for the shipping which will never happen!
