It is supposed to be a self help company It started with me investing $5000.00 for a self help program. They told me to study the program, then they would show me how to get others on board with me. and that I would make so much money. Then they had me get a domain address ,web site ,etc. I did everything like they said and nothing happened. Then they were having a conference in Cancun, Mexico All the succesfull People would be there. and If I went I would be shown exactly how the were making all this money. I paid for air fair and the hotel , Andthe cost of the trip to get all this infomation was $15,000 So I paid that also They gaurenteed that I would be sucessfull. That was when you all of a sudden had to have a passport. I applied for it, the post office screwed up it came to late, I couldnt take the trip. Then they had the summit in Austrailia that one was $30,000. Since I missed Cancun they said I had to Do Austrailia. It would change my life .So I went I took my son no doubt It was agreat vacation for my son and I . But the thirty thousand didnt pay for any thing I still had to incure all cost for air fair, hotel , everything. I know it sounds like I was a total fool and I guess I was . but I was totaly scammed. they had me convinced that If I invested in myself I had to come out on top . Ijust hjhappend to have that kind of money because my sister and I sold our house .Now Im homeless and I have nothing. I have a seventeen year old son that I can't support. Can you help me?

  • Too many inaccuracies for this to be taken seriously.

I was a member of LLI at the same time.

The Cancun conference was $8k, not $15,000.
The Australia conference was $12k, not $30,000.

These were also optional purchases, not required.

Finally, these were event tickets that you purchased. How, exactly, is it Liberty League's responsibility if you bought a ticket to an event and then didn't attend?

That's like buying a ticket to a concert....not attending....and then claiming that the concert promoter "scammed" you.

You weren't scammed. You simply bought something you couldn't afford, didn't use it and now you're having to deal with the circumstances.

I'm sorry for your situation. But I don't see how you were "scammed".

  • Hey Tony Im getting my papers together that prove I was scammed. And If you were doing to Liberty league thing. Did you make any money? Besides ther were differt People training each person. You dont know what my senerio was. So unless you have proof for what your saying. Maybe you should keep your nasty comments to yourself. I was scammmed. They gaurenteed me I would make money. If I just did this Or that. I did every thing they said and nothing happend for me. I admit I was very nieve. And Im nor sure the exact amounts. but I will provide the documents to prove my investments. Whats your story anyway. I asked if they could refund the money for the event, no fault of mine , that I couldnt attend.they said they would and they didnt.

  • Quick responses:

    1. "There were different people training each person".

REPLY: That's true. But all the products were sold by the company, not by your "trainer". You paid the same price for the conferences as everyone else. And it was nowhere near $45,000.

    2. No one at Liberty League ever "guaranteed" that you would make money.

In fact, for the entire time that I was with the company (2005-2010), they included the following disclaimer in EVERY conference call they did:

"You could earn more money than some of our associates. You could earn less. Some associates may earn no money at all. They just enjoy using products."

    3. No one is disputing that you bought the products. But, the full retail price of the conferences was $21,000.....not $45,000. And it was also clear that the conference tickets didn't include your transportation or hotel room.

AND...if you were unhappy with your purchase, they had a 10-day "right of rescission" policy that would have given you a 100% refund. Why didn't you use it?

So, again...I'm confused as to why you think you were scammed.

FACT: You bought tickets to a conference
    FACT: You didn't attend.

It's just like if you spent $100 on tickets to see a musical group and then didn't go. Would you think that the concert promoter scammed you just because you didn't attend the event?

  • Neither.

    I just think it's interesting that you're

a.) criticizing a company that's been out of business for years
b.) exaggerating the amount of money you paid for the conferences
c.) that you take ZERO responsibility for the fact that you bought tickets to an event and then didn't attend.

Like most "scam communities", I expect Scambook is going to be full of a bunch of people who blame everyone else for their problems like you're doing here.

  • You evidently don't know what "taking responsibility for it" means.

If you did, you wouldn't be complaining that someone "scammed" you when all you did was buy a product, not use it and then wish you had your money back.

I get it. You're out a bunch of money. But that's not the same as someone "scamming" you. :)

  • Er...I don't sell conferences. And I've never scammed anyone in my life.

I AM, however, an internet marketer.

Then again, I guess you probably think that all internet marketers are "scammers". :)
