International boundaries

We chose to use FatCow.com as our webhosting and opened our account on June 29, 2011. On December 31, 2011, we changed the account from autorenew to do not autorenew because we were no longer going to need this account at the end of the year. When we received our credit card statement in June 2012, there were charges for another year of hosting by FatCow.com. When we contacted FatCow.com, we were told we would be refunded a portion of the fees, but have to pay a cancellation fee of $35. There should be no cancellation because there was not to have been a renewal.
