I had been looking for a Macbook pro/air on craigslist for a couple days when I came across one offering a Macbook Air in like-new condition for 450$. The pictures seemed legit, and all the original box and paper-work was included. I responded to the ad, and with in a few days I received a response email telling that "Alissa" was no longer in Vermont and had been relocated to Vancouver, BC due to her job. She wanted to use a website called interparcel, which would handle the transaction, ship it in two days, and allow me five days to review the laptop before closing the deal. She would cover shipping. Response time on her part would vary from 2 am, to 12 pm depending on the day, which seemed a bit odd. I gave her my address, and asked for her phone number, and it seemed like the deal was about to happen. After waiting for two days with no response I decided to google her name. "Alissa Mcgee" returned many results and reports of people in the same boat, but luckily I hadn't given her any money yet. Bottom line is, if it's too good to be true, it usually is. Someone living in Vancouver and selling a like-new Macbook Air in Vermont so they "can get a better price out of it" is probably too good to be true. If you buy ANYTHING off craigslist, make sure you deal in person only, or you may end up out 450$ with no laptop to show for.
