Purchaced UltraDeck for a 30 X 30 Deck. Installed by professional carpenters. After less then a year the deck faded, boards shrunked and warped and bubbled up.
After all the paperwork for a return, they say it was installed wrong.
We followed all instructions that was given to us by the BillFleming, Menards Commercial / Contractor, Account Service Manager

- I have received a response from Menards and Midwest the manufactures of Ultra Deck who is owned by Menards. They explained that their product will shrink and fade and the unfavorable results is normal. They also stated that the installation was incorrect but doing it their way would have added a third more in labor cost to the already $7000.00. What they wanted was to double the support, 2 X 12's, at every area that the Ultra Deck board would meet another. In a 30 X 30 deck that would have added a extreme amount of cost. For that reason they take no responsible to the ugly results. I am not sure if by following their instruction would have created a different result but I have no out to my problem. My union carpenters tell me that their above solution would not have changed the outcome. They also tell me that they have built many decks and never saw the results that I am experiencing. I am willing to have it brought back to Menards for a refund, but they say they will not refund my money. They did tell me they would give me 12 free boards.
