An offer was misrepresented to me promising a gift card in combination with a magazine subscription. I paid $19.95 with my Mastercard on 6/18/2012 for a 3 magazine subscription for 5 years in length. The first 2 years you are locked in to pay $19.95 per month and the following 3 years are free. The offer can be cancelled within 7 business days for the subscription, which I have already completed and had confirmed. I received a call from General Subscription Services 6/18/2012 claiming I had won a $1,000 Walmart Gift card. The representative started the conversation asking where I wanted my free gift card sent to. She guaranteed that the card was free and it would be sent to me. I requested to call her back. I checked the company under BBB and proceeded to call the company back. At this time I spoke with a different representative, Leanne. Leanne asked where I wanted my gift card sent to and I asked her for all the details before I paid for anything. She advised me I would pay for the shipping and handling fee of $19.95 for 3 magazines, but that I would also receive the card through FedEx. She did state that this was a step towards receiving my gift card. I asked her if there was anything else I had to do for the card and she told me it would be sent and that I had probably completed a survey and that is why they were calling me with the offer. She guaranteed more than once during this conversation that the card would be sent. I requested to call her back. I called the toll free number and spoke with Marcy. She advised me that I would pay for the magazines and I could check the status of my card with bonusrewardstoday.com once they had placed the order. I called the rep back to place my order. She again told me I would receive the card and the magazines. The magazines would take 4-10 weeks to arrive. The first rep told me it would take as little as one day for my card to arrive if requested. When I requested, I was told that was not possible and I was misinformed. I was told the card would be sent via FedEx. They said in order to confirm my address I needed to contact bonusrewardtoday.com. I sent three messages to them concerning the confirmation of my order and address and received no response. Furthermore, after the order was placed and my card was charged, I checked my reward status for my gift card. To my surprise, there was nothing. No promotions have been completed. If there were more steps that needed to be completed to get my card, that information would be stated in my reward status, but it is not. I feel I was mislead and lied to. You cannot guarantee a customer something, charge them, and expect them to be okay with not receiving the full offer. I called the toll free number and spoke with Marcy again on 6/20/2012. She advised me to contact bonusrewardstoday.com, she said it was not their responsibility to ensure I received the card, that the offer does not promise a card because it is a different company. i told her about my conversation with the representative and she told me there was probably another offer that I needed to complete and to check my reward status. I told her I was told I was done, that I was not advised there was more to complete and she said it was not their responsibility. When i completed my offer with General Subscription Services, I stated several tomes that I would only agree to the payment if there was a promise that both rewards would be received. Since that was not true, I requested a refund, and they refuse to do anything to resolve that. If they had told me during my initial conversation that there may be more to do to get the offer, I would not have paid for the subscription, and I told the representative that when I initially did the offer, and I was guaranteed several times i would receive the card. Based on that, I was lied to and I don't care how they spin it is not affiliated with the company, if you make a guarantee and do not follow through, then I do not deserve to be charged.

Your Desired Resolution:
I am requesting that the charge of $19.95 for the shipping and handling for the magazines be refunded. I only agreed to pay this fee on the premise that I also receive the card, and i was told several times I would definitely promised be receive the card. There is no gift card, therefore a verbal agreement was broken. I do not care that they are 2 companies. I do not care how they spin it to make me look like the one at fault. i was very thorough in my examination of the product. I spent two hours making sure everything lined up before I agreed to pay, and I am not frivolous with my money. So they can state their terms, but they made a promise to me SEVERAL times, and that was not kept. I deserve money back, and my card.
