I have to say "Thank you" to all who posted about Home or Apartment.com, you saved me a fortune. I called the company (which had me on a long hold before answering), and got a nice enough gentleman who quickly explained the procedure. I told him it sounded "too good to be true," he got quiet and told me they were running a deal if I signed up now. Being of suspicious mind, I told him I was going to do my research about the company before giving him my information. He got quiet and disconnected. Strange behavior if you're a real company. Thank goodness I did research. The posted warnings about the company are ABSOLUTELY correct. To test the company, based on info from the posted scam warnings, I called again (another loooong hold), and ask them for a street address so I could come by the office and explore my options. The lady who answered said they do not have a street address, they're a call center set only. Things that make you go "hummm". AVOID this company like the plague. This is A TOTAL SCAM!! I flagged them on Craig's List.
