I have a savings account with Patelco Credit Union and called them yesterday to open a checking account and apply for a credit card. After giving the clerk all the required personal information, I was told that my application had been denied because of the low report, which included several late payments, and other payment problems. Upon questioning her, it was discovered that the problem accounts were with banks that I have never done any business of any kind with, but an ex-wife still had my number and I remember those bank names were familiar to her.

In short, Experian Fraudulently reported to Patelco that I had (bad) accounts and a bad record. Patelco compounded the fraud by using that information to report the denial of my request.

I understand a company cannot be compelled to open an account for anyone, but it cannot deny an application based on fraudulent data, since it involves them in the furtherance & continuance of the fraud.

We have suffered enough with the fraud in our banking and financial sectors to let this practice continue, it must be stopped immediately.

From this moment forward, let no Credit Reporting Agency be able to publish, prepare or distribute any kind of information about anybody IF they haven't already vetted the information, AND that they are not mere "pass-thru's" of data.

Lastly, Experian must correct and clear my record to my satisfaction but at their expense. They must share the corrected record with any and all persons and/or companies that they had previously sent my records to, (for any reason.)

I will receive documentation the the foregoing has been accomplished no later than 90 days from the adoption of this complaint and proposal.
