I purchased a magicjack in December 2010, pre-paid for 5 years and purchased a Canadian phone #.
April 19, 2011, it stopped working.
After spending close to 2hrs online with their 'support', I was told it was because I had not renewed my Canadian phone #. This was something I must have missed in the fine print upon registration.
Fine - I went into my account to pay for the yearly renewal.
Their website would not process my credit card. Again, close to 2hrs of online 'support' determined that there "may" be an issue with their payment site. I was assured I'd be contacted to fix the problem.
It's now June 13, 2012. I've been online from 6pm to 8:30 pm. The 'support' agents still have no clue. They must have had me re-enter, refresh, add, delete information on my account umpteen times. Still no resolution, however they once again assured me they'd have someone in a 'higher department' look into it and get in touch with me.
The good news is, whoever it was in the 'higher department' sent an email to me almost immediately. The bad news is, that person instructed me AGAIN to re-enter and retry...ad nauseum.
So, to date I've been through 7 'support' agents and used up almost 6hrs from my life and still I do not have the use of my phone because they have some sort of issue with their payment site. Oh yes, I've checked with my bank and with VISA - both confirm that there is no issue on my end. In fact, VISA reports that a payment registered each time I attempted to pay.
I asked them to reactivate my phone # until they can fix the problem however they refused.
No idea what to do next....
