I got a letter in the mail today saying that District Restitution Svcs had purchased my debt from Advance America. (They respectfully demand that I not contact their client Advance America for any reason and to direct all contact to their office) The letter also stated that I had ignored previous attempts to collect debt (I have not been aware of any attempts). In closing the letter says that I have 10 days to pay in full or they will commence legal action against me. I tried to call the # 1-888-900-3120 and a recorded message said the mailbox was full. I then searched online for the company, District Restitution, and have found numerous complaints and grievences saying this is a scam. I have decided to now ignore the letter, and if they call me or write me again I will ask them to send proof of my signiture on said "payday loan" or "bounced check". If they don't comply I'll tell them they can send future corraspondance to my attorney.
