I received a call from an individual claiming to be from the grants department, but in order to release my funds into my account they need at first $205 for processing fees, and then $499 for other fees required to claim my funds. I know better to fall for these type of scams, however it seemed legit at first I even traced the numbers and such before dealing with them. They then contacted me as a representative of New York Federal Reserve Bank because this was supposedly where my funds were to be transferred from. The "names" of the individuals are James Carter, Cathy Smith and a man named Chris who supposedly works for the US Department of Treasury. These people have a large net of people involved because if I called the numbers I was given the "receptionist" even answered with the name of the "company" and transferred me to the right people. BEWARE!! I finally contacted the Federal Reserve of New York consumer complaint line and confirmed that this is a scam. I have also filed complaints with the FTC and Western Union who was used to obtain the funds. It was a hard way to learn the lesson that if it sounds too good it probably is.
