I had a FHA mortgage with Source One Bank. These mortgages are advertised as helping slightly lower income home buyers and that they protect the bank's by providing coverage if the home owner looses the house. This way, the bank collects from the feds and collects from the sale of the house, a win win for the bank.

One day, in 2000, Citibank, (not my bank), mailed 3 months of my payments back and an action of foreclosure. Making a very long story short, they had started to take over Source One, a small bank with many FHA mortgages, and they would then start foreclosure proceedings, whether the homeowner was in arrears or not.

Calling my local HUD office confirmed the above, but they offered no help, even though the feds were obviously being ripped off, besides myself. I fought them in court and won. The action of foreclosure was stopped, and my motioned to have my mortgage vacated for compensation was signed. The bank's own attorney's agreed with this. This is all documented in Suffolk County Records, Case #00-16548. I have certified copies.

3 years went by, and they came at me with an aggressive new group of lawyers. They frightened me into selling, and when I closed, they stole most of the equity from my closing even though it was on county record that they no longer held a mortgage on the house. There is more to the story, as I did hire a lawyer, who disappeared after 1 court appearance, the NYS Supreme Court Judge Leis, who would not come out of chambers on the court dates, and more.

I want my home back, and the bank can deal with the relocation of the present occupants. I have been wasting money on rent that I can not afford with my doctor bills, and also want compensation for the rent money, moving costs, and money for replacement of furniture and other belongings lost due to the illegal actions of Citibank, which was clearly allowed by the HUD offices in PA.
