I ordered a pair of Sperry top-siders from "shop-cora.com" for $45.90. I thought I was getting a great deal considering that these same shoes on the official Sperry website for around $80! I waited and waited for my order to arrive. Emailed the company - email was non-existent. This is when I began to get suspicious. So I called the number on their website - also non-existent. Today, almost a month later, I recieved a shower cap via china UPS. The adress is clearly made up: Xiaoya Yang, Hfdufkjasduw KHfdeufihf Highfsd, GUANGDONG CHINA 518128. I cannot get my money back because PayPal has record of me recieving a package. I WANT TO STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING TO ANYONE ELSE.

  • Hi Lauren, I'm very commited myself to stop these people. I haven't received the shower cap, yet. Also, I bought from a different company, but they also use the "shower cap trick". Now I've come to belief it's a huge worldwide scam, just fake company names proceeding all in the same way to get our money illegally. I filed a case with the police over here, in the Netherlands, for internet fraud, but it probably won't do any good because they use so many different names my case just gets lost as I'm apparently the only one. It's about numbers: we all should join hands together to start a case, have someone starting a proper investigation. The IP address of the email account that the company used in my case, could be tracked down to an internet provider in China! Company itself, Shoes365buy.com, appeared to be just a regular US webshop, just like in your case. And just like in everybody's cases reported here! Just search for "shower cap" in the search field on top and you'll see what I mean. It's huge! We should be able to do something with all this information gathered on this site. If someone would have a proper look, checking every IP address from all these "shower cap" companies, maybe it could be tracked down to the same computer, or a number of computers in the same city, a group of people operating together on this. I don't know how to go about, as most cases are from American people and I come from Holland. Got some ideas? Apparently PayPal US is already aware of it, at least some cases. We could all start a group or forum, gather all information, and hand it over to an internet fraud investigation unit, so we are not just unrelated singular cases. That definitely would work. But I don't know how to reach all these people, can't just comment on every singular case...

  • It is best to call in via phone (under Contact Us) before you bother to pointlessly return the cap; they're pretty much aware of what these types are up to. Gave me my refund on the spot.

  • Oh. It's probably because I'm already signed-in, and that's the Secured (httpS) direct link.

You can probably just google the thread we're on (it's called "Scam from Shoe seller in China"; so type paypal and that title). Otherwise, just start from paypal's main forum pages and search from there.
