After completing my debut novel titled' Two Nuptial knots',I was on the lookout
for a good publisher. Google search engine helped me in finding few publishers
across the globe. Well, I got attracted to the lucrative terms and conditions of
Raider Publishing International,based at New York, U.S.A.
Mr Adam Salviani,its CEO,sent me a letter of acceptance,though I had received
few other acceptances during the month of August,2011. I read and reread the
clauses mentioned on the contract paper. Convinced and happy after going through their terms,I readily accepted to sign on the agreement paper. I had to
pay their publication fees of 899/- U.S.Dollars. I also submitted the remaining 17 chapters of my novel.
The initial days went off well. A personal assistant was deputed to answer my queries and clear my doubts. Adam had promised me that the whole publication process will take around six months. It was on this condition that I accepted his publishing firm. Now nearly ten months have passed by. Also my personal assistant discontinued after five months.Meanwhile, my cover design was sent
back after my approval.
It is now that fear started hovering on top of me,since there is total silence. No
one responds to my emails or phone calls.. On the 9th of May, 2012, I received
one email from Adam Salviani,asking for 250/- U.S.Dollars or else the publication process may be delayed. Moreover,they didn't send me the review
of the proof-read manuscripts for my approval,which is mentioned on the contract paper. Is this not an act of violation of the clauses or rather an act of
''BREACH OF THE CONTRACT'' ? If this is the situation now, I doubt whether he
will pay my Royalties in time for a period of three years (quarterly) ...
Now,what should I do in such a hostile situation? I think Mr ADAM must pay me
a reasonable compensation for my mental torture and for causing such a delay which affects mt writing career...
