Beware of this Company! Read this first before purchasing any products from 1and1.com

1and1 Internet Inc. is based in United Kingdom with operations in the United States, it's corporate offices are located at 701 Lee Rd suite 300 Wayne, PA 19087 this is just a mailing address, funny how they picked an address that doesn't show up on Google maps.

Our problem started a few months ago when we decided to purchase one of 1and1.com's products.

After reviewing plan options we decided to start with the what they call the starter package. During the SETUP process it became painfully clear that this package wasn't to work, we then call 1and1.com's customer service and explained that the features in this starter plan were not clear on the ordering site and there was no way we could move forward with the setup process.

1and1.com's customer service rep advised us that we could however upgrade to the next level but we would still be responsible to pay for the original plan.

This didn't seem right so we waited a couple of days and called customer service again, on the second call into 1and1.com's customer service we obtained the help from a so called US based rep.

We explained our problem with the original package and this customer service rep convinced us that we could cancel the original plan after we upgraded to the next plan all we had to do was pay a $9.99 admin fee. Our next move was to upgrade to the next plan in what they call the Professional Package, this package had a larger capacity for more items and bandwidth but the shipping and payment methods were no better. Needless to say the Pro Package wasn't going to work either. Frustrated we decided to go with an eBay Pro Store.

We attempted to cancel this plan and thought that all plans and contracts were canceled we moved on.

After a couple of months we began getting bills from 1and1.com saying we owed money for the starter plan and we had to pay for it for a full year, plus pay for the Professional Package for a full year.

We explained to customer service that we canceled these plans please stop billing us. After many many emails 1and1.com finally admitted that the plans and contracts were canceled but we still owed for the prior 3 months.

We were sent numerous threatening emails that they would process this through collections if we didn't pay, so to keep this from our credit report we had our bank draft them a check. This action seemed to calm the waters until the other day we received 2 collection letters one for 3 months billing on the starter package and the other for their collection fee.

We've contacted the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office and the supervisor in charge told us that 1and1.com is a company based in the United Kingdom if they don't respond to emails there is really not much his office can do.

If your going to file a complaint with ripoff report please file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Dept in Pennsylvania as well. Their contact information is as follows:

Office of Attorney General
Bureau of Consumer Protection

State College, PA 16801

We are now in the process of putting together a Class Action Law Suit against 1and1.com. We also found this blog that is gathering information for the Class Action 1and1.com's online contract doesn't mean squat, any contract in the United States of America has to be equitable for both parties.

File a complaint with your States Attorney General's Office as well as Pennsylvania's. Together we can put a stop to 1and1.com's double billing scam, credit file tampering, bait and switch advertising and unlawful contracts. Good Luck and we will be praying for you all.
