Received a call that my PC has serious issues and a rep. from Microsoft would log in on to my Computer and fix it. All that they did was clean up Temp files etc. Next day I had issues and called them, they logged in again and fixed it but charged my account AUD128.63 - which I had not realized until my statement appeared 3 weeks later.
On 4 May 2012 I received a call from First PC Solutions - to say the Company I paid $130.00 to (Cyber Astro) was now out of business and thet are paying me a refund. First I was to allow 'Sam' - (Indian accent - from Auckland?) access to my PC, then complete a form authorising a payment of AUD269.00 FROM my account? I almost did this until I had to get a netcode to proceed, then the penny dropped. I reported this to my Bank, whom cancelled by Credit Card. I have had 3 calls from 1st PC since, the last one today - this time advised to get the refund for AUD128.63 back from the bank via Dispute after I said I would not allow access to my PC. I will see how I go! M.S. James
